Dream Mechanics is an 8 minute acousmatic composition that was used in a 16 channel diffusion performance. The composition relies heavily on field recordings and creative processing to convey narrative, mood and place, contorting these elements to communicate the shifting mutability of a dream landscape.
The Churning Belly
The Churning Belly is a prototype musical sculpture designed as part of a sensory playground for children, in collaboration with an EYFS teacher and there class. The scheme followed the EYFS and KS1 curriculum in it's conception, describing different functions of the human body through sounds, with each musical model (for which Churning Belly is 1 of 4) correlating musically to the next. The aim was to pose questions around what role music can play in a child's development, if embodied (physically and acoustically) interactions were entangled with collective and collaborative musicing efforts, as a byproduct of their current curriculum.
