The composition relies heavily on field recordings and creative processing to convey narrative, mood and place, contorting these elements to communicate the shifting mutability of a dream landscape.

Uncoupling / Coalesce is an 8 minute acousmatic composition used in a 16 speaker diffusion performance.
The composition takes inspiration from the dissociating, hypnotic qualities of the ocean that surround the south coast of Cornwall. It relies heavily on field recordings - using, hydrophones, binaural, electromagnetic, contact and parabolic microphones - taken across Kernow - boat chimes, dockyards, whirls of water in piddock holes and zawns, farming machinery, latches, abandoned gunpowder mills, waterfalls and resonant underpasses - processed to communicate the spatial, emotional and temporal shifts that may occur when transfixed on the water.
